Grupo Mayan Understanding Body Adaptation

This article is going to help you understand the processes that the body goes through when you visit a spa or give yourself a spa treatment at home.  Understanding how your body adapts to the environment you are providing for it, say the Grupo Mayan professionals, will also help you understand what type of spa treatments you need.  Sometimes you might just need to soak in a hot bath and other times you might need a little more TLC.

In this article the Grupo Mayan pros are going to show you the processes of adaptation that your body goes through and help you understand a little about each process so you can better evaluate your needs.
The first process the body goes through in the adaptation of a spa environment is homeostasis.
Homeostasis is when the body works at maintaining its internal balance and stress factors, mentally or physically, can throw that internal balance off.  Getting control of these factors will help the homeostasis process, say the Grupo Mayan professionals.

The next process according to the Grupo Mayan pros is the actual adaptation based on the task that lies ahead for your body.  When you are exercising or doing a strenuous job, your body eventually adapts to the activity and when you are done, the body also needs to adapt to a wind down from physical labor.  This part is considered positive adaptation, and a fundamental part of spa therapy.

You also need to understand the influences that your body goes through and help balance them out and try to control them as well.  There are 2 forms of body influences that are external, say the Grupo Mayan experts, and these are called hard influences and smart influences.  Smart influences are things that will improve your bodyís well being while staying within the boundaries of your bodyís stimulation.  Hard influences are the ones you will want to always keep in check because these influences that cause unnecessary stress to the body will make you over exert yourself and have a negative effect on your body.
These are all things to keep in mind, say the Grupo Mayan experts, when you are contemplating just how much you need to benefit on any particular day that you plan to visit a spa or do your own spa treatment at home.

Like stated earlier, there will be times when you have not been through too much hard influence so just a simple relaxation technique will work for that day and other days you will find yourself needing a lot more pampering.

Treating Yourself to a Mud Bath at Home

As with most things, mud baths have their pros and cons and doing it at home in your own spa treatment like area is no exception, say the Grupo Mayan experts in spa treatments.

In short, a mud bath is a series of natural products that you can purchase at any bath store and use at home.  The ingredients consist of all natural things found around you and around the world and are typically safe for all skin-types.  Make sure that you read the labels on the products for any skin allergy warnings before buying the product, recommend the Grupo Mayan pros.

If you have ever been to a spa and had a mud bath treatment, this is probably why you are exploring your options of giving yourself one at home.  The process in an actual spa is effortless on your part, but you have to know that doing it at home is going to require some work on your part.

You can also buy the mud online, according to the Grupo Mayan spa professionals and the benefit of ordering online is that sometimes you can get the product cheaper because they will ship it to you straight from the factory cutting out the middle-man.

There are a few choices of mud treatments that are also referred to as peloid treatments, and the first kind is a saltwater mud that has a very high mineral content and since the minerals are so rich, this will help the body and skin to stay nutrient rich.  There is also the organic mud types referred to as saporpel and moor.  There is not one that is more beneficial over the other according to the Grupo Mayan experts, this choosing process boils down to personal preference, but you can consult with the spa you usually go to and ask which type they use especially if you have had mud baths there because you know whatever type they use is going to work on you already.

There are a couple of drawbacks to doing a mud treatment at home and you should examine these along with the product to determine whether or not you want to risk it.  The first is the fact that mud sticks to mud, so keep that in mind if you are expecting a high concentration of the mud treatment to actually penetrate your skin, because it wonít.  Another problem is that a lot of the ingredients in the mud are not water soluble and may cause your bath tub to plug up.  This is why, say the Grupo Mayan spa professionals there are special bathtubs that the spas use for these treatments.  Some, on the other hand, have no problems with draining or clogging your tub drain, just do your research.  I have found that the best alternative to avoid these issues is purchasing a mud that is already prepared because it has gone through extensive refining processes and is eco- as well as, user friendly.

Once you have made it through this process the rest is a breeze and you should be able to thoroughly enjoy a mud bath right in your own home.

Grupo Mayan The Benefits of a Great Spa Treatment

Spa treatments have become very popular over the past decade and there is a very good reason for it, according to the Grupo Mayan experts.  Not only can it beautify your outside but it can make you feel extremely pampered and beautiful on the inside.

The benefits of a spa treatment are to help reduce stress, relieve muscle tension, and relax your mind as well as your body.  This also provides a complete escape from all of the hectic chaos in your life, even if just for a short time.

There are several kinds of spa treatments and packages that are offered at most spas, say the Grupo Mayan pros, but here is a list of the most popular treatments that are available at almost any spa you visit.
The first thing is obviously a massage.  The technique of a good massage is considered a body treatment and it will help loosen up your muscle groups and their rigidity as well as relieve some tension and anxiety that has built up over time.  There is not just one particular massage though, say the Grupo Mayan experts, there are several kinds you can choose from.  The first we are going to talk about is the Swedish massage.

The Swedish massage provides you with a wide range of differing techniques for muscle tension release and using a lot of pressure on the more problematic areas as well as your bones.  When the body is massaged, the muscles have better blood flow and a lot of the toxins that get trapped in our tissues, start to be released.

The next type of massage, say the Grupo Mayan experts, is a deep tissue massage and we have to warn you that this type of massage can actually be a bit painful for some people.  It does not affect everyone this way, though.  This is a good form of massage if you are recovering from an accident as it is known to help eliminate scar tissue.

There are 2 other types of massages known as sports massage therapy and aromatherapy.  Sports massages also tend to be a bit rough in nature, say the Grupo Mayan experts so if you are looking for a more gentle approach, steer clear of this one.  Most bodybuilders and athletes choose this form of massage because their bodies are used to the abuse.  Aromatherapy massage is more of an olfactory type of therapy that incorporates gentle oil massage with a pleasant fragrance of your choosing.

The other treatments you will benefit from include body wraps and facial treatments, so Grupo Mayan experts advise you to check out a spa that you have heard great things about and go interview their business.  A lot of spas offer a complimentary guest treatment so that you can experience what they have to offer first before choosing a package.

Grupo Mayan Taking Advantage of Using a Hot Tub

We are all aware how using a hot tub can be very relaxing from the moment that you step foot in one and sit down and recline, say the Grupo Mayan experts in spas.  Water therapy has been used for many years for mainly types of illnesses as well as in rehabilitation centers, but hot water therapy is the other benefit to using a hot tub.

Sometimes we experience pain for unknown reasons but most of our pain can be attributed to muscle tension and, short of using smelly sports creams, the best way to relieve muscle tension is by using a hot tub, according to the Grupo Mayan Spas professionals.

When we result to using a hot tub for therapy a number of positive things happen within our own bodies.  There are many people who have neurological and muscle diseases such as fibromyalgia and arthritis and hydrotherapy has been used for a very long time to help alleviate the symptoms of pain that comes with being a sufferer of these types of conditions.

Another benefit to hot water therapy, say the Grupo Mayan experts, is that it also makes us sweat.  Most people may not think this is very beneficial, but in actuality, it is part of the natural cleansing process that our bodies use to rid it of waste and toxins.

Additionally, sure you have heard of the natural hormone in our bodies called endorphins.   This is the bodyís natural happy pill.  When you use the hot tub as a form of hydrotherapy, say the Grupo Mayan experts, your brain releases endorphins making you feel overall comfortable and at peace.

Lastly, Grupo Mayan professionals want to make sure that you understand that hot tub therapy is not for everyone.  It is a proven fact that hot tub therapy can lower your blood pressure, but once you initially get in the hot tub, your blood pressure will naturally rise until you sweat as a form of releasing your body of the extra heat.  With that said, if you are a heart patient or suffer from any kind of blood pressure issues, you should always consult with your primary care physician before starting yourself on hot tub therapy.  After all, the goal here is to relieve stress as well as aches and pains, not add to your problems.

This is a great alternative to paying for expensive therapy from a massage therapist and it is something Grupo Mayan professionals recommend highly for anyone who can take advantage of it safely.

Learning to Release Your Inner Beauty

Grupo Mayan spas professionals know for most women there is a time where they wish they could just put the world around them on hold and find some peace because of all of the hustle and bustle of their everyday lives.

Something to realize is that inner beauty plays a part in how you feel everyday and how others see your true attractive side.  If you are unhappy and constantly stressed, it will show on your face and in your movements and people will not be able to see the natural glow about you.

Do not despair, advice the Grupo Mayan experts, there are several tips that will help you release your inner beauty on a regular basis and show the world, that even though you are not on the cover of Cosmo, you are stunning and radiant.

You should always put yourself first.  Is this a selfish concept?  In a manner of speaking, yes, however, if you do not take care of yourself first, all of the people that you currently take care of will no longer be able to be assisted by you because you will not be capable of taking care of anyone else.  You should take time out for yourself every day just to breathe, reflect, decompress and relax, according to the Grupo Mayan experts.  It might only be 10 to 20 minutes but the important factor is quality not quantity, you can release a lot of stress in that short amount of time if you put your mind to it.

Do you find yourself being all work and no play?  This is a huge mistake.  Regardless of your chronological age, you do still have an inner child that needs to play and release.  There is a double benefit to this because it will also improve your overall attitude about work, and it will show and the people who give you promotions and raises will be the ones to notice.  Playing does not mean you have to be immature, but what it does mean is that you need to do things you enjoy doing and do them frequently.

Try to smile as often as you can at the appropriate times of course, recommend the Grupo Mayan professionals.  Smiling relaxes your face and it also sends the message to others that not very many things bother you and you can handle just about anything this world has to throw at you.

Take more baths, not as a measure to clean your body necessarily, but as a relaxation and decompression measure.  If you are one of the many who have to be careful when taking a bath, a hot shower can serve as a good alternative too.  Even if you are not an aged person, thinking about investing in a stool that you can sit on while in the shower is not at all a bad idea.  The point is, according to the Grupo Mayan experts, to try to get as relaxed as you possibly can.

Lastly, say the Grupo Mayan spa pros, surrounding yourself with things that make you feel good is very important and it does not even matter what it is as long as it makes you feel good.  Some people love candles and having as many as you want, some that have some significance and others that donít, is a good way to keep that inner peace you have going on.

Day Spas, Not Just for Women Exclusively

For the longest time, day spas were a retreat where mainly only women ran to.  Not that men were not welcome, say the Grupo Mayan experts, but it used to be that this was a womanís getaway and men chose to go play their favorite sport, like golf to get away.

More and more we see men seeking out the need for a physical and mental break from the everyday stress of life.  This is not only good news for them, but good news for the spas as well.  According to the Grupo Mayan pros, since men outnumber women almost 4 to 1, there is a good percentage of the population that have not been taking advantage of all that a spa retreat has to offer.

Men, regardless of age or social status, love massages.  For the spa therapist and its owner, this is a great selling point for you because men will never turn down a massage and the more creative you are with explaining what goes into a massage and the benefits, the more packages you will be able to sell.

Women are much easier, say the Grupo Mayan professionals, because they just want to be pampered.  Women pay good money to have someone else take care of their needs for relaxation so the more things you can include in your packages as perks for spending more cash, the more likely they are to order the biggest package you have to offer.

Some men are not comfortable with the thought of having another man do their massage, say the Grupo Mayan experts, so as a manager or owner of a spa, it is important that you offer your client, regardless of gender, the option of picking the gender of therapist they prefer.

Another service for men at day spas that is becoming more popular is waxing.    Grupo Mayan spa professionals think this is because there are a good portion of men out there that have hairy backs and this is either unattractive to most, or they are just self conscious about it and prefer to get rid of it all together.

The next area that is becoming more popular for men is the facial and the manicure.  There are plenty of businessmen who are out there every day, dealing face to face with the public and naturally they want to look their best.  One of the things about the facial for men, say the Grupo Mayan experts, is that this facial is specifically designed for them, different from a womanís facial so this sets their treatment apart.

Creating Your Own Spa Vacation at Home

In todays economic climate, say the Grupo Mayan spas professionals, the last thing most of us have money for is a day at the spa, however, our need for a relaxing getaway is never going to go anywhere with all of the stressors that are in our lives nowadays.

The following are some tips to help you create your own spa vacation right in your own bathroom.
If you love music, especially a very calm, relaxing CD you are going to want to include this in your experience, say the Grupo Mayan experts, because for some people, nothing is more relaxing than listening to a piano being softly played or the sounds of nature as they close their eyes.

You can go to a bath store and purchase some spa specific ingredients such as bath salts or bath oils that always relax you and works well with your skin.  There are known skin allergies out there and you do not want to ruin your experience, say the Grupo Mayan experts, so before purchasing a new product for you spa vacation, it is best to keep in mind that you should probably stick with the products that you know are skin friendly to you specifically.

You could also choose a great body scrub as well as a loofah that will exfoliate your skin while you are relaxing in the bath, say the Grupo Mayan pros, because the feeling of fresh new skin is like no other experience.  This also helps in the application of your moisturizers when you are done with your bath because clean fresh skin absorbs moisturizers so much better.

Lastly, you will want to have plenty of time to relax and decompress and not worry about the world outside of your bathroom door, so remember to schedule this time and stick to it, and do not forget to close and lock the door.  The additional benefit to playing a CD while you are in your home spa, say the Grupo Mayan experts, is that it helps drown out any of the noise on the other side of the door.  Make sure that you have something extremely comfortable to wrap yourself in when you are done, but do not completely dry your skin because somewhat moist skin will help with retaining the moisture that is provided by your lotion.  Not only will the moisturizer last long, but it is safe to assume that your favorite scent really smells good too and, according to the Grupo Mayan experts, not completely drying your skin off will help maintain the scent longer on your skin.  Relax and enjoy!

Grupo Mayan Creating Your Own Spa Retreat

It seems like the stress factors of today are causing more and more people the need to get away more often and visit a spa to find some relaxation time and clarity. But spas can be quite costly, say the Grupo Mayan experts, even though they offer massage therapy, the cost is becoming a factor for most people in this economic crisis and people are ceasing this luxury, which is almost these days a necessity rather than a luxury.

The good news is, according to the Grupo Mayan spas professionals, that you can create a spa environment in your home so that you do not have to spend a fortune to pamper yourself and you will get almost the exact same results.

The following are some tips provided by the Grupo Mayan professional, on the stuff you will need to create that spa experience right in your own bathroom.

One of the first things we would like to focus on is going to a place like bath store and looking through their spa treatments to be able to get some ideas of what we would like to have at home.  The name says it all and it already puts you in the frame of mind for a few hours of some well deserved relaxation.
Most of these bath places offer body treatment kits that include a loofah, some sea salts and candles and other little items, say the Grupo Mayan experts.  It is best to purchase the kit this way because buying the individual pieces is more expensive, but if you do not find exactly what you want in the kit, it is okay to pick and choose these items separately.

The next thing you will want to make sure you have, say the Grupo Mayan experts, is a nice, thick comfy robe that you can slip into once you get out of the tub, but also a really thick bath sheet will work just as well.

We would not recommend completely drying off before applying your favorite moisturizer because if you leave some moisture on your skin, the lotion will stay with you longer and you will also experience the smell of your favorite lotion a lot long.

The most important thing, say the Grupo Mayan experts, is that you relax, decompress and enjoy your time alone.  This is one of the best ways to pamper yourself but also a good way to take care of your mental health.  We all need a break from the worries of our life on occasion.

Beneficial Equipments to Purchase for a Home Spa

If you are in the position to be able to add on to your house and build yourself a spa, there is some great equipment that you can purchase, say the Grupo Mayan experts, and each individually will provide you with some very beneficial therapy for many years.

This article is going to focus on the top 4 types of spas you can create in your home or add on to your home.

The first is the Spa Pool.  Typically, say the Grupo Mayan experts, the spa pool is more like a hot tub with underwater jets that will allow your body the benefit of getting your blood flowing to the inner parts as well as the outer parts of your body and is very beneficial to people that might experience circulation problems from time to time.  The other benefits to a spa pool is that it helps you to relax and relieve the fatigue in your body and can also be a very great comfort to many pains and injuries that you may get from time to time.

The next option is called a Plunge pool.  A plunge pool is designed very deep and is kept very cold.  The purpose for this type of pool, according to the Grupo Mayan experts, is to cool the body temperature quickly and you do not have to spend very much time in this pool.  The main purpose of this pool is to help your body release toxins by way of the colder temperature which makes your vessels expand and contract rapidly which wakes up your muscles and helps the tissue inside your muscles release toxins.

The next type of spa equipment is the Sauna.  Many people have loved the sauna for well over 2 decades.  The sauna is a wood cased room that is kept between a moderate temperature of 80 all the way up to 100 and the main purpose for the sauna is to make you sweat so that your pores all over your body will open and release toxins and while this is going on, you are also able to relax and virtually burn calories just by sitting there.  Grupo Mayan experts say that depending on the amount of time you spend in your sauna, you can burn up to 300 calories in as little as 30 minutes a day which is equivalent to running 10 miles.

The last piece of spa equipment would be a Steam Room.  The steam room might sound similar to a sauna in your head, but it is almost exactly the opposite.  Saunas provide a dry heat, whereas a steam room has about 100% humidity and is kept at a temperature around 38.  It has the same results of the sauna though, so choosing between the two, say the Grupo Mayan experts, is going to be more of a personal preference of tolerability to temperature differences.

Mud Baths for fun and Relaxation

A great spa treatment that many guests often ignore is the mud bath.  You can trace the origins of the mud bath back to Cleopatraís time when she used mud bath therapy.  Soon any place that had access to mineral springs and volcanic ash began to offer the mud bath therapy.  Grupo Mayan spa professionals recommend the mud bath for its ability to relax you.

If you have never tried a mud bath, you can imagine a cocoon of a warm soft mud that will buoy you and suck the stress out of you.  Mud baths can help to improve your complexion, relieve joints, muscle pain, and remove toxins.

What can you expect to find in a mud bath?  Indians used warm springs and volcanic ash to create a mud bath that was first commercialized in 1946.  The primary ingredients of a mud bath are springs water and volcanic ash.  Some places will add peat moss to the mixture to make it softer and allow the body to float.  Grupo Mayan spa professionals explain that fresh ash is brought in each day and mixed with boiling mineral water and peat moss is then added.  Boiling spring water is important to help sterilize the mixture between guests.

For the first ten minutes of your mud math, the mixture is soft and warm.  You will float in the mixture just below the surface.  The mud will be kept at about 100 degrees Fahrenheit.  You will receive help getting in and out of the mixture.  The mud bath is often compared to being back in the womb.  You are warm, floating, and feel very secure.  After you finish your mud bath, you will be able to wash off in a mineral whirlpool bath.  Then you can enjoy a steam room treatment and follow it up with a blanket to help you cool down slowly.  From beginning to end, you can expect to spend about one and a half hours unless you decide to get a massage afterwards.

The mud bath is not for everyone.  If you suffer from claustrophobia, you may not be able to handle being submerged in a thick black mud for the recommended time.  Mud baths have a high level of sulfur and may be too much for some people who are sensitive to odors.  If you are pregnant, you should make sure your doctor approves of the mud bath before using it.

Grupo Mayan spa professionals hope you will try a mud bath experience the next time you visit the spa.  There is not many other treatments that will give you this feeling of weightlessness.
